The SPINE series is specially designed for the learner with learner- centered activities which aim to motivate and arouse his/her interests. Moreover, SPINE views language learning as fun which generates more enjoyment and leads to making learning both effective and meaningful. SPINE1, comprises two books: Teacher’s Book 1 and Pupil’s Book 1. The handwriting component is in the Pupil’s Book, but actual practice is to be done in a two-lined or four-lined exercise book. Practice should be both intensive and extensive in order to develop accuracy, fluency, clarity, neatness and tidiness in the learner.

The SPINE series, Sudan Practical Integrated National English, is specially prepared for the Sudan in order to develop communicative competence in learners at both Basic and Secondary levels. The SPINE series is written in an easy way in order to help the teacher provide enjoyable learning opportunities for his/her pupils. It is also meant to be used by parents so that they can offer support at home. Hence, they further expose their son and daughter to English. This interaction enables pupils to live and experiense the English Language in their respective homes. Consequently, English is reinforced and naturally extended to real life situations.
